Chemir¡¯s Custom Synthesis Services Supports Research & Development
Chemir Analytical Services has introduced custom synthesis services to support contract research and development for a wide variety of industries.

Chemir Analytical Services has introduced custom synthesis services to support contract research and development for a wide variety of industries. Chemir¡¯s chemical synthesis team, established in 1995, was formerly known as Gateway Chemical Technology and more recently as IQsynthesis. The group was brought back into the Chemir Analytical Services organization and recently relocated to Chemir¡¯s laboratories in Maryland Heights, Missouri.

¡°The custom chemical synthesis group has already helped several of Chemir clients with developing innovative coating and polymer materials,¡± said Eric Uffman, vice president technology, Chemir Analytical Services.

Chemir¡¯s custom synthesis group assists the plastics, polymer, coatings, agrochemical and specialty chemical industries. Their organic synthesis capabilities span from milligram to kilogram scale. The team¡¯s experience includes specialty and fine chemicals, agrichemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates and new chemical entities (including analogs, cold-labeled analogs, impurities, degradants, metabolites and bioorganic compounds), scaffolding for combinatorial chemistry in 1-100g scale, polymer synthesis (Anionic, Cationic and Ziegler-Natta Catalysis), analytical standards (certified by Chemir) and controlled substances (DEA Schedule I-IV). Additional services include novel route design, literature synthesis, basic building block chemistries, multi-step reaction schemes, and process research including design and scale-up.
